Job summary

Center for Justice Innovation seeks a Violence Interrupter Supervisor for the SOS Bronx program. The role involves supervising a team of interrupters, coordinating canvassing, and ensuring thorough documentation while engaging with at-risk youth and community groups in the South Bronx.

Ideal candidates have 3–4 years in the field, familiarity with the Mott Haven and Morrisania areas, and strong mediation skills. Flexible schedule with evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher; 3–4 years of relevant experience.
  • Formerly incarcerated or prior justice system experience encouraged.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict mediation skills.
  • Knowledge of South Bronx area including Mott Haven and Morrisania.
  • Ability to walk long distances (30 blocks).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Violence Interrupters in Morrisania, Bronx.
  • Create canvassing schedules and ensure staff presence.
  • Maintain documentation of all contacts with high-risk individuals.
  • Intervene in situations likely to escalate violence.
  • Build relationships with youth, residents, and community groups.
  • Attend trainings and team meetings.
