University Settlement Society Of New York is seeking a Violence Interrupter to identify hot spots, canvass communities, and build trust with high‑risk youth in Brooklyn. The role supports CMS efforts by coordinating responses to shootings and increasing program visibility.
The position requires a high school diploma or HSE with preferred Bachelor's degree, and at least two years of experience with vulnerable youth. Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, are required.

Utilizing the globally recognized Cure Violence model, which is an evidence-based public health approach to responding to gun violence through credible messengers whoidentifyand engage individuals most likely to be involved in gun violence and to defuse conflicts before they elevate. The CMS program will service the 88thprecinct area of Brooklyn including the Ingersoll,Whitmanand Farragut housing developments to be the frontline in preventing and interrupting conflicts that may lead to gun violence and retaliation in real time.Reporting to the Violence InterruptedSupervisor,ViolenceInterrupter willbe responsible forproviding intervention to thecommunityfortheCMS program.
Work Schedule: Full time, Tuesday - Saturday, 11:00am - 7:00pm, 35 hours per week
