Good Shepherd Services is seeking an Outreach Worker Supervisor for the Cure Violence Bronx program. The role involves supervising outreach staff, coordinating community interventions, and working with partners to reduce gun violence in the Bronx 46th Precinct area.

The position requires strong communication, outreach skills, and a commitment to trauma-informed approaches. Location is Jerome Avenue, Bronx, NY, with a 35-hour work week and exempt status.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of the Bronx 46th Precinct neighborhoods.
• Residence within the area strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform effective community outreach and mobilize community efforts.
• Experience with at-risk and gang-involved youth.
• Excellent communication skills with staff, participants and community members.
• Proficiency with computers and handheld devices; ability to use databases.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid NYS driver’s license strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Outreach Workers, approves data and plans daily/weekly activities with staff.
• Coordinate responses to shootings and other violent events with the Program Manager.
• Investigate causes of shootings to aid mediation and prevention of retaliation.
• Conduct community outreach to build relationships with residents, businesses, and groups.
• Represent the program at community meetings and mobilize efforts against gun violence.
• Organize regular mobilization activities and public education efforts.
