Job summary

Laland Baptiste LLC is seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to support a large-scale public construction project in the Bronx. The ideal candidate will have hands-on field inspection experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems across major building projects.

The role requires thorough review of drawings, specs, RFIs, and submittals, plus daily inspection reports, coordination with multiple trades, and close collaboration with project stakeholders to ensure

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of MEP construction inspection or related field experience (implied by position)
• Experience on large commercial, institutional, government, or public-sector projects
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, drawings, specs, and codes
• Experience with NYC/public-sector projects preferred
• Strong written communication and field reporting skills
• Ability to work onsite in the Bronx with multiple trades and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of MEP installations to verify compliance with drawings, specs, codes, and project requirements.
• Inspect mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection work across construction.
• Monitor contractor activities and identify deficiencies or non-conforming work.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and approved shop drawings as they relate to field installations.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, photographs, and documentation of work in progress.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, construction management staff, and other field inspectors.
• Monitor testing, commissioning, equipment installation, and system start-up activities as required.
• Assist with punch lists, corrective work, and project closeout.
