Overview

We\'re looking for a hands-on Assistant MEP Superintendent to support field operations on ground-up construction projects throughout NYC. This role will work closely with the Lead Superintendent and Project Team to coordinate all MEP trades, maintain schedule integrity, and ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project standards.

Responsibilities

• Support daily on-site oversight of MEP trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection installations.
• Assist in managing project schedules and sequencing of MEP work to maintain overall construction timelines.
• Coordinate subcontractors — review scopes, monitor manpower, track progress, and ensure accountability.
• Help manage RFIs, submittals, inspections, and change orders alongside the project management team.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and field logs in Procore.
• Enforce site safety standards, NYC DOB regulations, and company safety protocols.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets drawings, specs, and code requirements.
• Participate in coordination meetings with design teams, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Assist with commissioning, system startups, punch lists, and project closeout processes.
• Identify field issues early and work with leadership to drive timely resolutions.

Qualifications

• 3-7+ years of field experience supporting MEP scopes on ground-up construction projects.
• Strong understanding of NYC construction practices, DOB requirements, and site safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, schedules, and technical documentation.
• Experience working with Procore, MS Project, or similar construction management software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate multiple trades in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow into a lead field role.

Compensation: $140,000 - $180,000
