Job summary

HKA Enterprises seeks an experienced construction inspector/field engineer to oversee complex commercial or federal projects with a strong MEP focus. You will perform field inspections, support commissioning, review submittals/RFIs, and track deficiencies across large, multi‑phased initiatives.

The role requires extensive experience in IBC/IMC/IPC/NEC and OSHA standards, plus advanced knowledge of hydronic loops, BACnet/BAS sequences, and BIM tools.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of documented experience in construction inspection or field engineering on complex projects.
Verified specialization in MEP systems on large commercial or federal projects.
Experience on multiple multi‑phased modernization or new construction projects valued at $50M+.
Proficient in IBC, IMC, IPC, NEC and OSHA safety regs.

Responsibilities

Conduct daily site observations and inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Support commissioning activities, startups, and functional performance testing.
Track deficiencies, submittals, RFIs, and progress in logs and reports.
Coordinate with GSA, CBP, and contractors across multi‑phase projects.
Verify code compliance and maintain detailed project documentation.
