Job summary

The Center for Justice Innovation seeks a Program Manager, Community Safety for the Save Our Streets South Bronx project. You will oversee day-to-day operations, supervise a team of Outreach Workers and Violence Interrupters, and coordinate community engagement to prevent gun violence.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Community Safety, you’ll build partnerships, organize community events, and ensure accurate program reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent lived experience.
• One year of supervisory experience required.
• Knowledge of violence prevention, community engagement and organizing, and youth engagement and support strategies.
• Candidate should reside in Morrisania or Mott Haven or have in-depth knowledge of the area.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Save Our Streets Bronx gun violence prevention program, including supervision of Outreach Workers and Violence Interrupters.
• Build community support among faith leaders, residents, businesses, and community organizations.
• Coordinate mobilization, public education activities, and organize at least one anti-violence event per month.
• Lead community responses to shootings and violent incidents within 72 hours of notice.
• Ensure systematic recordkeeping on performance indicators and caseloads; submit timely monthly reports.
• Hire and supervise a team of 26 frontline staff including 4 supervisors; manage hiring process.
• Attend program meetings and community-based events; represent the organization as needed.
