Responsibilities

• Independently manage profitability and service of assigned lanes through daily planning.
• Negotiate rates and plan efficient single- and multi-stop refrigerated shipments.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, and warehouse schedulers to ensure timely shipments.
• Onboard new carriers and use load boards to procure capacity.
• Track shipments and maintain accurate load details in the TMS.

The Job Details: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for effectively selecting means to plan profitable and efficient means of transportation for our customers participating in the USCS Logistics Brokerage. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for effectively negotiating rates and the efficient scheduling and routing of delivery vehicles.

• Independently manage the profitability and service of assigned lanes through daily planning and decision making
• Individually responsible for the profitability of 400k to 1 million in revenue per month
• Understanding of transit times based on DOT Regulations
• Direct communication with customers to solve problems and plan effective freight
• Effectively select means to plan profitable and efficient single stop and multi stop temperature-controlled trucks
• Price and procure carriers for brokerage department
• Drive sales and growth in the brokerage department
• Independently plan, organize, and control activities related to transportation with little to no interaction from management
• Work with management on any new lanes customers need pricing for
• Answer requests for proposals and orders from customers
• Ability to interact professionally with customers and carriers daily
• Onboarding new carriers through carrier management system
• Utilizing load boards to procure carriers
• Receive and confirm orders for transportation
• Knowledge of refrigerated carrier market pricing and where to seek it
• Organize transportation in the best conditions, in respect to the quality and the company’s timekeeping standards
• Find optimal solutions for transport and communicate solutions to customers
• Establish relationships with clients in pursuit of sustainable business relationships
• Negotiate spot rates with outside carriers to decide effective and profitable means of transportation
• Responsible for the tracking and tracing of shipments with contracted carriers.
• Coordinate with warehouse schedulers to ensure timely shipping
• Respect the law on road traffic public, domestic and international traffic of goods
• Direct carriers for loading and unloading of consignments, goods and means of transport
• Effectively communicate load details with outside carriers
• Ability to make pickup and delivery appointments on all platforms
• Ensure TMS information is updated in a timely and accurate manner

The Job Specifics:

• Hourly Wage: $24-$28 per hour

What We Are Looking For:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree and or 3+ years of equivalent Logistics experience

Experience

• PC, leadership and planning skills helpful.
• Experience in AS400, RMIS, TMS, Word, Excel, Online Scheduling Systems, and Power Point a plus.
• Experience with warehouse paperwork a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a constantly changing chaotic environment and consistently meet tight timeline.
• Ability to coordinate with contracted trucking dispatchers and drivers
