Job summary

Unum Group in San Francisco region is seeking a Regional Broker Manager to drive broker-influenced sales across public and commercial sectors, in partnership with Colonial Life and local leadership. The role focuses on acquiring new clients via insurance brokers, expanding relationships, and coordinating with field teams to execute business plans.

This position requires strong communication, travel up to 75%, and a proven track record in broker sales; Unum offers competitive benefits and growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Licensed to solicit insurance or ability to obtain license in territory within 45 days.
• 5+ years broker sales/marketing experience in worksite or voluntary benefits.
• Strong communication, influencing, presentation, and persuasion skills.
• Willingness to travel 50%–75% of the time.
• Self-guided with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Increase profitable sales and new clients through insurance brokers.
• Target broker relationships with growth potential.
• Engage with brokers regularly to drive new client opportunities.
• Document broker engagements and manage sales pipeline in CRM.
• Present as a strategic partner to prospective and existing customers.
• Collaborate with managers to align broker growth with regional goals.
• Train brokerage hierarchy on value proposition.
• Engage brokers in marketing programs and events.
• Coordinate distribution alignment with regional and national offices.
• Educate brokers about Unum’s value proposition across markets.
• Participate in broker meetings and events; cultivate partnerships.
