Job summary

Tyson Foods in Robards, KY seeks a field-based Technical Assistance Specialist to support producers caring for company poultry. You will advise on building specs, litter, sanitation, and manage flock health and equipment settings.

The role requires close collaboration with Hatchery, Feedmill and Livehaul teams, travel up to 5 times per year, and a commitment to biosecurity and USDA regulations. You will engage with producers to optimize flock performance while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in agriculture or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years' experience in poultry or agriculture-related field preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with active listening and adaptability.
• Basic computer skills (email, data entry, simple queries).

Responsibilities

• Advise producers on building and equipment specifications, litter management, and farm sanitation.
• Visit farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, monitor health, and provide remedies.
• Monitor feed consumption and assist with ordering as needed.
• Pull blood and fat samples as required.
• Coordinate chick placements to farms and assist with catch schedules.
• Ensure communication among Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul departments.
• Ensure compliance with production contracts to optimize flock quality and costs.
• Adhere to USDA and other regulations on poultry handling.
