Job summary

Current Newspaper seeks an Underwriting and Traffic Coordinator to manage underwriting sales, traffic systems, and revenue operations. The role writes, records, and produces underwriting and PSAs, ensuring compliance and accurate scheduling.

You will collaborate with consultants, clients, and staff to support station operations, including on-air duties and fundraising events as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with an understanding of broadcast copy standards.
• Familiarity with FCC regulations related to underwriting and programming.
• Comfortable interacting with diverse stakeholders and working collaboratively across departments.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to last-minute programming or schedule changes.
• Experience with traffic systems and basic accounting/invoicing practices.
• Audio production and voice talent experience.

Responsibilities

• Enter contracts and client details into traffic and billing system; issue invoices and monitor payment activity.
• Coordinate with finance to report billing activity, process commissions, and reconcile reports.
• Monitor delinquent payments and maintain collections records.
• Oversee development of underwriting agreements and client relationships; ensure contract storage and processes are followed.
• Write, edit, record, produce, and manage underwriting announcements and promos within FCC guidelines.
• Maintain copy quality standards including grammar, timing, syllable counts, names, and URLs.
• Serve as backup on-air host and support weekly feature recording/editing; assist with campaigns and events.
