Job summary

Nexstar Media's Indianapolis Fox/CBS studio seeks a Broadcast Maintenance Engineer to install and support broadcast systems, including RF transmission. You will report to the Director of Engineering and work at the studio, transmitter, and remote sites.

The role requires proficiency with PC workstations, servers, TCP/IP networking, and experience with news production systems. You must be able to read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and be available after hours for emergencies and 24/7

Qualifications

• High school, vocational or technical education or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years minimum maintenance experience in an operational television broadcast facility with emphasis on news production systems.
• Additional consideration for applicants with television transmitter maintenance experience.
• Must be articulate and able to communicate ideas verbally and digitally.
• Polite composure under stress is required.
• Requires ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Must be able to work in a high power RF transmitter facility.
• Must be proficient in use of all types of general machinery, hand and power tools.
• Must be able to lift objects up to 50lbs. Requires walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing and crawling.

Responsibilities

• Installation and configuration of technical broadcast equipment
• Comprehension and application of technical manuals, CAD prints, database and direct interaction with manufacturers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Coordination with engineering department coworkers and other departments to complete maintenance-related projects to meet goals and objectives
• Television Broadcast facilities operate 24/7; support may require evenings, weekends, holidays and special events
• The Maintenance Engineer must be readily available after hours to respond to emergencies
