Job summary

Paramount is seeking a station engineer to maintain and support core infrastructure including news editing systems, control room automation, streaming, and transmitter operations. You will repair and upgrade hardware and software, collaborate on engineering projects, and coordinate with vendors to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates bring a strong electronics background, experience with RF transmission, newsroom systems, IT networking, and the ability to work varying shifts,

Qualifications

• Sound engineering foundation with ability to troubleshoot and repair complex broadcast systems.
• Strong technical background in video transmission, newsroom systems, automation, IT and IP tech.
• Experience with RF transmission and related technologies; cable fabrication/termination.
• Self-starter with organized approach and strong communication with teams and vendors.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays/overtime as needed; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support station infrastructure including news editing, control room automation and streaming systems.
• Install, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment to component level.
• Collaborate on design and execution of station engineering projects.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors; order parts/services.
• Review discrepancy reports and prepare end-of-shift progress notes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Broadcast Operations & Engineering management.
