Job summary

Penske Entertainment in Indianapolis is seeking a Broadcast Systems Engineer to oversee the operation, upkeep, and performance of IMSP control and technical rooms. The role demands leadership, collaboration within engineering, and the ability to perform under pressure during live events.

The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of broadcast video production, 2110 standards, and hands-on experience with complex systems, test equipment, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing mobile units or large-scale remote productions.
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast video production theory and practice.
  • Familiarity with 2110 standards and applications.
  • Expertise in design, implementation, maintenance of complex broadcast systems.
  • Proficiency with broadcast test equipment (meters, waveform monitors, vector scopes).
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, codes, regulations for broadcast production.
  • Excellent report writing and record-keeping abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and email.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the control and tech rooms, ensuring all systems are operational.
  • Install, maintain, and repair all systems.
  • Establish and QC audio, video, and data signals from remote broadcast sites.
  • Work with transmission engineer supporting Indianapolis-based streaming equipment.
  • Lead the technical crew on-site and supervise IMSP equipment.
  • Provide timely technical reports within 24 hours of event completion.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and ensure repairs follow-up.
  • Collaborate with production staff for event setup and execution.
  • Serve as IMSP’s on-site engineering representative, aligning with company values.
