Job summary

U.S. Facilities, Inc. is seeking a Bridge-Tunnel Operation Crewmember to work at our site in Virginia. The role requires patrolling and inspecting vehicles, controlling traffic, and assisting motorists in a high-security environment.

The position involves standing for long periods, driving up to 50 miles/day, and coordinating with police and emergency responders. A High School diploma and traffic-control knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of Traffic Control operations, rules, and procedures.
• Knowledge of Hampton Roads Interstate and local roadways.
• Strong command on the English language and ability to communicate both in writing and verbally; bilingualism in Spanish is an asset.
• General working knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
• Experience in radio and phone communications.

Responsibilities

• Occupy inspection station locations, stop, and inspect vehicles for over height, hazardous materials, facility security threats, and violations.
• Provide security by standing watch at various stations, directing traffic, and reporting suspicious activities.
• Operate patrol vehicles, monitor roadway conditions, and render assistance to motorists.
• Respond to motorists and coworkers with clear, accurate information and directions.
• Complete accurate records utilizing Inspection Station Reports and Vehicle Inspections.
• Dispatch and deploy the Incident Response Trailer to incident scenes at HRBT, MMMBT, and JRB.
