Job summary

U.S. Facilities, Inc. is seeking a Bridge-Tunnel Lead Operation Crewmember to join our Virginia site.

The role supervises traffic control operations, coordinates with VDOT and client staff, and ensures safety and quality in a 24/7 environment. You will manage contractor performance, participate in hiring and onboarding, maintain schedules, and report on activities and incidents while representing the company during high-impact events at the site.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience directing and controlling traffic.
• Full range of physical mobility, visual perception, and general good health.
• Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Hampton Roads interstate and local roadways.
• Computer literate; Windows-based application experience.
• Experience in radio and phone communications.
• General knowledge of vehicle mechanics and repair.
• Scheduling flexibility.
• Field experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the work of OBT contractors assigned to the client facility; ensure quality control and contract compliance.
• Coordinate staffing needs with VDOT Operations managers and supervisors; assign contractor shifts.
• Participate in candidate selection, tracking, interviewing, onboarding.
• Serve as coordinator for newly trained personnel and field training completion.
• Develop employee schedules and supervise personnel issues including callouts.
• Allocate time on nights, early mornings, and weekends to support 24/7 operations.
• Communicate with VDOT HRHT Control Rooms regularly.
• Act as a company representative during high-impact events as requested.
• Maintain presence at Control Room, inspection booths, and crash houses to ensure quality.
• Monitor performance evaluations and timesheets; assess employee performance.
• Respond to emergencies; ensure safety, access, and security protocols.
• Brief personnel on priorities, initiatives, policies, safety and goals.
• Serve as the point of contact for personnel questions on policies and procedures.
• Investigate accidents; prepare reports for administrative review.
• Process leave requests and input timesheet data; submit to corporate offices.
• Create and maintain updated personnel files; publish activity reports.
• Attend regular team and client meetings and briefings; represent company interests externally.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or USF Senior Project Manager.
