Job summary

U.S. Facilities, Inc. is seeking a Bridge-Tunnel Operation Crewmember at our site in Virginia. The role involves inspecting vehicles, directing traffic, and supporting emergency responders in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, knowledge of traffic control, and valid communications skills. Lifting, standing in weather, and long shifts are expected; a valid DMV license is beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of Traffic Control operations, rules, and procedures.
• Knowledge of Hampton Roads Interstate and local roadways.
• Strong command of English; bilingualism in Spanish is a plus.
• General knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
• Experience in radio and phone communications.
• Computer literate; Windows-based and Apple devices.
• Demonstrated proficiency in customer service.

Responsibilities

• Occupy inspection stations and inspect vehicles for over height, hazmat, and security threats.
• Provide security by directing traffic and reporting suspicious activities.
• Assist in emergencies and coordinate with responders using safety techniques.
• Operate and dispatch incident response equipment and patrol vehicles.
• Report incidents and maintain Records using Station and Inspection Reports.
• Communicate clearly with control room regarding vehicle status and lane closures.
• Perform daily safety and housekeeping duties to ensure a safe work area.
• Support traffic control and safety at HRBT, MMMBT, and related sites.
