Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation's Fort Worth District is seeking a Bridge Engineer I/II for the Bridge Section. You’ll contribute to design, review, and project development for bridges, collaborating with teams to deliver safe, reliable structures.

This is a full-time, onsite role in Fort Worth with strong growth potential, responsibilities in planning, design, estimates, and coordination with project managers, while meeting state standards and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 4 years engineering/transportation experience; related graduate education may substitute.
• Professional Engineer license or eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs transportation engineering work in planning, project development and design, construction, transportation/traffic operations and/or maintenance.
• Reviews designs and shop drawings for bridges and related structures.
• Assists project managers to establish realistic and achievable schedule baselines.
• Designs moderately complex bridge projects and performs specialized design.
• Performs complex structural analysis of bridge designs.
• Reviews and checks special designs and solutions for unique structural problems.
