Job summary

Women In Need, Inc. (Win) is seeking a Housing Coordinator to support permanent housing searches for shelter families. You will coordinate housing services to ensure successful placements in accordance with WIN’s requirements.

You will build partnerships with brokers and landlords, guide families through subsidy and application processes, and collaborate with case managers to develop housing strategies. Travel to housing sites is required to facilitate viewings and enroll families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an associate's degree with 4+ years of directly related experience.
• Deep knowledge of the New York City housing market, including housing subsidies and supportive housing programs.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with brokers, landlords, and housing stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and professional demeanor, with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to understand housing subsidies and guide families through the application process.
• Cultivate relationships with real estate rental brokers and landlords to access current housing resources.
• Coordinate with brokers/landlords to ensure housing meets WIN requirements for client readiness; act as expediter as needed.
• Arrange apartment viewings and interviews; provide escorts and assist with housing applications.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and clients on permanent housing strategies.
• Coordinate WIN-sponsored Housing Fairs and participate in networking events.
• Coordinate and facilitate housing workshops addressing client issues during different phases of housing search.
• Hold group meetings with new families within 10 days of arrival to discuss subsidies and client responsibilities.
