Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking qualified applicants to repair, maintain, and replace bridges and structures in accordance with VDOT standards. You will perform carpentry, welding, and concrete finishing, erect or demolish structures, and support emergency operations with temporary bridge placement.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform skilled carpentry, concrete forming and finishing work.
• Proficient with light and medium-duty equipment and hand/power tools.
• Proven ability to maintain safety practices and follow regulations (OSHA/VOSHA).
• Ability to read and follow oral/written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and replace bridges and structures per standards.
• Perform carpentry, welding and concrete finishing tasks.
• Place temporary bridges and manage emergency operations.
• Apply in-stream and environmental protection measures.
• Operate light to medium equipment for maintenance tasks.
