Job summary

You will join a crew performing manual labor, emergency operations, and preventative maintenance, with attention to safety and traffic control.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months and maintain thereafter.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to measure and lay out constructed elements on bridges and culverts.
• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.
• Experience with welding, carpentry and concrete finishing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Construct, repair, and replace bridges and structures per safety standards.
• Operate light to medium equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Place temporary bridges and respond to emergencies; provide traffic control.
• Apply environmental protection measures during work.
• Follow MUTCD for detours and lane closures; ensure safe work zones.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and comply with OSHA/VDOT policies.
