Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks a senior structural engineer to lead bridge and structure design projects, review plans, and coordinate consultant contracts. You will guide engineering teams, ensure adherence to FHWA standards, and contribute to statewide program directives.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field.
Experience applying state and FHWA procurement laws, practices and policies and contract management.
Experience in bridge design, structural analysis and FHWA design practices and standards.
Leadership experience for a structural engineering team and leading development of engineering projects.

Responsibilities

Bridge and Structure Design: manage complex projects and review plans, designs and drawings.
Consultant management: oversee contracts and review consultant services and procurement processes.
Expert technical consultant: provide engineering guidance and training across programs.
Program delivery: develop guidelines, policies and directives and monitor statewide programs.
