Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Manager in the Structure & Bridge Design Group in Richmond, VA to lead design efforts and manage client relationships. The role requires a strong background in structural design, bridge projects, and team mentorship.

Ideal candidates hold a Virginia PE (or be able to obtain via comity) with 8–15 years of experience and proficiency in major design software. This on-site opportunity offers growth within a top national engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8-15 years of structural design experience.
• Virginia PE (or ability to obtain via comity on hire).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specs, AASHTO Bridge Evaluation Manual, and VDOT standards.
• Proficiency in design software packages such as MDX, Virtis, Merlin-Dash, Descus, Bar7, STAAD, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage design efforts for the Structural Engineering team.
• Client management and development.
• Develop work plans, schedules, estimates, and budgets.
• Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of engineers.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Perform complex bridge design for new and rehabilitation projects.
• Bridge design and load ratings experience is a plus.
• Assist with development and implementation of marketing plans.
