Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Structural Engineer – Bridge Focus in Richmond, VA. The role involves designing bridges and related structures within a reputable structural group, with opportunities to grow in a leading infrastructure consulting firm.

Qualified candidates will have a civil/structural engineering background, PE registration, and 6+ years of relevant bridge/marine design experience. The Richmond office offers a collaborative environment with broad project exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis preferred but not required.
• 6+ years of design experience of bridge or marine structures.
• PE registration required.
• Experience with VDOT or other DOT projects preferred.
• Proficiency with STAAD and other structural software.

Responsibilities

• Develops plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed.
• Design of structures in civil transportation including bridges and other structures like culverts and retaining walls.
• Coordinate design aspects with other disciplines and staff; ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Calculate quantity and cost estimates.
• Supervise and coordinate work of team members as needed; limited client contact at staff level.
