Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking Engineering students for its Summerville, South Carolina office. This is not a remote position and interns will contribute to structural projects, learning software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, and GIS.

Interns will assist with analysis, design deliverables, and coordination under supervision, gaining exposure to bridge projects and regulatory practices at federal, state, and local levels.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited engineering degree in Civil/Environmental/Structural or related fields.
• Majors include Civil, Environmental, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Biosystems, Chemical or Agricultural Engineering.
• Engineering Technology accepted if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Use technical software to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
• Assist in pre-construction on structural projects like bridges and retaining walls.
• Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications and estimates for clients.
• Solve problems and collaborate with project managers and disciplines.
• Learn and apply federal, state, and local regulations and Kimley-Horn practices.
• Familiarize with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and GIS.
