Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Raleigh, NC is seeking engineering interns to support bridge and structural projects. You will use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, and other tools to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients, while learning regulations and best practices in the field.

This on-site internship offers exposure to pre-construction on bridges, coordination with project managers, and collaboration across disciplines to realize client visions for the built environment.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in civil/ environmental/ structural engineering or related fields.
  • Majors include civil, environmental, structural, mechanical, electrical, biosystems, chemical, agricultural engineering or engineering technology.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize software to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
  • Assist with pre-construction on structural projects like bridges and retaining walls.
  • Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications and estimates for clients.
  • Solve problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Learn federal, state, and local regulations and company practices.
  • Learn AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and GIS.
