Job summary

WSP is seeking a Bridge/Structural Engineer for our Baltimore, MD office to work with the Transportation Team. You’ll assist in analysis, design, and evaluation of transportation structures under senior guidance.

You’ll perform calculations, develop models, prepare plans and reports, and participate in field inspections and data collection while adhering to codes and standards. A Training/ETO path is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering required.
• 3–5 years of post-education structural or civil design experience.
• Engineer in Training certification.
• Knowledge of structural design principles, codes, and standards.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design and construction management.
• Ability to coordinate with regulators and stakeholders.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, CSi Bridge, Midas, or LARSA 3D.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analysis, design, and evaluation of transportation structures under guidance.
• Perform structural calculations for bridge components and bearings.
• Develop and maintain structural models and perform basic analyses.
• Prepare bridge design plans, specifications, and reports using CAD tools.
• Field inspection and condition assessment of bridges and related structures.
• Prepare quantity and cost estimates and review drawings for compliance.
• Research design codes and owner criteria (AASHTO, AREMA, DOT).
• Assist with evaluation, rehabilitation, and load rating of bridges.
• Document findings and participate in project meetings with stakeholders.
• Create data visualizations and graphs to interpret results.
