Job summary

WSP is seeking a Bridge/Structural Engineer to join our Virginia Beach, VA office and contribute to the Transportation Team. You will collaborate with senior engineers to analyze, design, and evaluate transportation structures and support project delivery.

Candidates will perform calculations, develop models, prepare plans and reports, conduct field inspections, and assist with scope development for small- to medium-sized projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analysis, design, and evaluation of highway, rail, and other transportation structures under guidance of senior engineers.
• Perform structural calculations for bridge components including superstructures, foundations, joints, and bearings.
• Develop and maintain structural models using engineering software and perform basic analysis per standards.
• Prepare bridge design plans, details, specifications, and technical reports with CAD/digital tools.
• Field inspection and condition assessment of bridges and related structures.
