Job summary

AECOM's Greater Pennsylvania Area Bridge Engineering Practice is seeking a Structural Engineer to design and analyze bridges and transportation structures across North America. The role offers a hybrid work model with at least two days on-site in Philadelphia area offices and the remainder remote each week.

Responsibilities include design, analysis, QA/QC, and coordination with teams, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and work on major DOT and regional projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with structures focus and four (4) years of relevant experience on bridges/transportation structures.
• Professional Engineering License (PE).
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License; must pass motor vehicle records review.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual, preliminary and detailed final design of new bridges and other transportation structures.
• Analysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges.
• Use of computer software for the analysis and design of bridges and other structures.
• Preparation and QA/QC review checking of technical reports, design calculations, and structural plans.
• Preparation and/or quality review checking of technical specifications and construction cost estimates.
• Working independently and with groups toward development of structural design documents and contract deliverables.
• Following QA/QC procedures to ensure the technical quality of deliverables and responding to client comments.
• Training, mentoring and helping to develop junior structural engineering staff.
• Structural-related project task management.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (structures focus)
