Job summary

WSP in Worcester, MA is seeking a Bridge/Structural Engineer to contribute to the Transportation Team on a variety of projects. You will develop plans using CAD, draft load rating reports, support field inspections, and perform design calculations while producing clear documentation.

Minimum qualifications include a Structural/Civil B.S., 3–5 years of post-education experience, EIT, and knowledge of major design software; PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of post-education experience in engineering discipline with structural or civil design.
• Engineer in Training Certification (EIT).
• Knowledge of engineering analysis, design, and practices, including rehab and new design.
• Knowledge of MassDOT, MBTA, and/or RIDOT requirements and standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adaptability.
• Proficiency with design software: AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenBridge Modeler, OpenBrim, STAAD Pro, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional bridge/structural engineering work including CAD drafting for design documents.
• Prepare Bridge Load Rating Reports for in-service bridges.
• Support field inspection and condition assessments of bridges and related structures.
• Prepare quantity and cost estimates and structural analysis calculations.
• Review drawings for design intent compliance and specifications.
• Assist more experienced engineers with broader tasks and studies.
• Generate technical studies, reports, and design document packages.
