DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker's Baltimore office has experienced substantial growth and is expanding its national bridge practice. To support this growth, we are seeking an Entry level Bridge/Structural Engineer who will complete technical work and ensure technical excellence in the Bridge Department. This team member will collaborate with project engineers and senior project managers to deliver high-quality engineering services.

This position will be in-office in Baltimore, Maryland. This NOT a remote role.

The Entry Level Bridge/Structural Engineer (EIT) will have the opportunity to join a dedicated team to deliver important projects, including:

• Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations for all types of bridges and transportation structures
• Develop or assist in developing contract drawings and study reports
• Perform bridge inspections and prepare inspection reports
• Perform load rating
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary design teams (highway, traffic, civil, planning, etc.) to support diverse projects

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with a focus on bridges or structures, from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent
• 1-3 years' experience designing bridges and transportation structures is preferred
• EIT or ability to acquire within 6 months required
• Strong technical and communication skills with a dedication to quality
• Computer skills desired include Bridge Design Software, Microsoft Office, and Computer-Aided Drafting (Microstation preferred)
• Basic knowledge of applicable design codes and standards

COMPENSATION

The estimated compensation range for this position is $62,000 to $90,000. This range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on education, qualifications, experience, abilities, and location.
