Job summary

S&ME is seeking a CEI Bridge and Roadway Inspector to oversee transportation construction projects in Southern West Virginia. You will conduct field inspections, monitor contractor work, perform material testing, and maintain detailed documentation to ensure compliance with plans and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have experience with roadway and bridge projects, strong communication skills, and the ability to interpret plans.

Qualifications

• Education/experience combinations listed above.
• Certifications: WV TRET or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Strong English communication and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field inspections of bridges and roadways to verify plans and safety.
• Collect material samples and perform basic field tests.
• Maintain inspection logs and daily reports.
• Ensure environmental permits and DBE/EEO compliance.
• Communicate with contractors, engineers and client representatives.
