Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Bridge Department in Wall Township, NJ. You will advance your structural engineering career on complex transportation projects across New Jersey, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams from preliminary design through construction support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; PE license.
• 5–8 years of progressive bridge design and structural engineering experience.
• Proficiency with bridge design software such as LEAP Bridge, LARSA, MIDAS, CSiBridge, STAAD.
• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation proficiency.
• Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and NJDOT procedures preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for bridge and transportation-related structures, including new construction, rehabilitation, and replacement projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design plans, technical reports, specifications, and other project documentation.
• Develop structural models and perform analysis using bridge design software such as LEAP Bridge, LARSA, MIDAS, CSiBridge, STAAD, or similar programs.
• Assist with bridge load rating analyses and structural evaluations.
• Coordinate design activities, track project requirements, and assist with schedules and deliverables.
• Collaborate with roadway, geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental, and construction teams.
• Review design documents for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Assist senior engineers with mentoring and development of engineering solutions.
