Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer – Bridge to provide technical leadership on complex bridge design and rehabilitation projects across New Jersey. Based in Wall Township, NJ, this role collaborates with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality transportation infrastructure while advancing the Bridge Department's capabilities.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years of bridge experience, a PE license for NJ/NY/PA, and a track record mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree in Structural Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; NJ/NY/PA preferred or reciprocity.
• 15+ years of progressive bridge design and structural engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for complex bridge design, rehabilitation, replacement, and transportation infrastructure projects
• Serve as a senior technical resource for bridge engineering teams, providing guidance on design approaches, engineering solutions, and project delivery strategies
• Lead QA/QC reviews of bridge plans, calculations, specifications, reports, and design documentation
• Oversee structural analysis and design activities per AASHTO LRFD and NJDOT standards
• Mentor engineers and develop department standards and best practices
• Support business development, client engagement, and project pursuits
