Qualifications

• 6 to 9 years of engineering experience in bridge design.
• Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) required.
• Experience with TxDOT projects is strongly preferred.

We are currently seeking an experienced Bridge Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.

What you’ll be doing:

• Perform and supervise calculations and analysis for designing bridge and transportation structures using various bridge design software programs.
• Perform and supervise load ratings on bridges of various types, sizes, and complexities.
• Review calculations and design details developed by others.
• Attend meetings with clients, professionals, and organizations.
• Develop solutions to challenges presented by clients within budget, schedule, and project constraints.
• Review construction-related submittals.
• Organize and maintain project files.
• Supervise and mentor Structural EITs and Interns.
• Assist with marketing bridge and structure design work.

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Master of Engineering (not required but preferred).
• Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.).
• 6 to 9 years of engineering experience in bridge design.
• Experience with TxDOT projects is strongly preferred.
• Skilled in the use of OpenBridge Designer.
• Technical expertise in the layout and design of bridges and related highway structures.
• Familiarity with rehabilitation of existing bridges and highway structures.
• Knowledge of AASHTO and other pertinent bridge design specifications.
• Familiarity with TxDOT bridge standards and design manuals is strongly preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
