You will deliver small-group instruction, collaborate with counselors, and lead IEP-related activities within both substantially separate and general education settings. Strong SEL, organizational, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Required licensure defined by DESE (Moderate/Severe/MLD licensure preferred)
• 3–5 years of experience in school settings with teens/young adults/families
• Experience running programs for youth with SEL needs
• Direct instruction in social, organizational, and life skills to adolescents with SEL needs
• Experience implementing all parts of the IEP process
• Understanding of special education regulations and laws
• Knowledge of a wide range of disabilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to use technology effectively
• Ability to handle diverse and complex issues
• Ability to collaborate with multiple school stakeholders
• Belief in helping all students reach potential, including minority and low SES students

Responsibilities

• Provide small group specialized instruction with modifications to curriculum frameworks in a substantially separate setting (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies)
• Provide small group instruction to promote planning/organization and IEP goals/objectives
• Partner with counselor to co-lead small group interventions targeting SEL skills
• Embed therapeutic strategies within content instruction to support SEL needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and embed supports to foster skill generalization
• Establish and maintain home/school connections and work with families on school performance
• Develop community partnerships with agencies to meet student/family needs
• Support crisis intervention for students and families
• Serve as IEP liaison, conduct IEP meetings, complete related paperwork timely
• Administer testing to determine eligibility for SPED services
• Use assessments to monitor progress and revise IEPs as appropriate
• Participate in placement decisions for Bridge program and referrals
• Engage students in transition planning toward post-high school life
• Attend departmental and school-wide meetings
• Maintain consistent attendance for supervision and instruction
• Perform other job-related duties as needed
