Job summary

Pennoni Associates is seeking a Staff Bridge Engineer in Philadelphia to lead structural monitoring projects for bridges and buildings. The role involves FE analysis using CSiBridge, SAPP2000, ABACUS, and other software to refine load ratings and support preservation of signature bridges.

Responsibilities include bridge design, inspection, NBIS compliance, and collaboration on transportation projects with PennDOT, SEPTA, DRPA, and others across the Mid-Atlantic region.

Qualifications

• EIT certification is required and eligible for taking the Professional Engineer’s examination within 12 months of joining Pennoni.
• Background in structural performance monitoring and instrumentation of bridges and buildings.
• Experience in finite element analysis using CSiBridge and other model software.
• Experience in refined load rating using data from structural instrumentation.
• 4-7 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of structural monitoring projects for bridges and buildings.
• Bridge monitoring supports preservation of signature bridges.
• Conduct finite element analysis using CSiBridge, SAPP2000, ABACUS and other FEA software for refined load rating.
• Assist with bridge design, inspection and load rating tasks for transportation improvement projects and NBIS bridge inspections.
• Work with 3-D BIM platforms on challenging structural projects.
