Job summary

Pennoni Associates Inc. seeks a Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation Bridge Team at our Hampton Roads office on a full-time, direct basis.

You will perform structural analysis and design for highway and railroad bridges, waterfront structures, and related assets across the Mid-Atlantic region. The role requires an engineering degree, EIT, and at least two years of bridge inspection experience with NBIS qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT).
• 2+ years bridge inspection experience.
• NBIS Topside Team Inspector requirements.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and comply with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and/or design of Bridges (Highway & Railroad), Waterfront Structures, Culverts, Retaining Walls, and Overhead Sign Structures on a variety of projects.
• Perform NBIS Bridge inspections in Virginia and North Carolina and surrounding states.
• Produce high-quality technical writing for bridge inspection reports, specifications, studies, and other engineering documents.
• Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
