The State of South Carolina Department of Transportation in Columbia is seeking a highway maintenance worker to perform general maintenance on bridges, operate heavy equipment, and support the construction, repair, and preservation of the state highway system.

Formación

• One year of related work experience or approved acceptable equivalence.
• Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Within six months of placement, obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Responsabilidades

• Operate heavy equipment (backhoe, mini excavator, lowboy) to repair bridge deficiencies.
• Perform bridge maintenance activities (grading, mowing, concrete work, painting, steel installation).
• Place traffic control devices to create safe maintenance work zones per guidelines.
• Assist in emergency and inclement weather operations and standby for extended hours.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
