The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a Bridge Maintenance Worker at District One to operate heavy equipment, perform concrete repairs, welding, and allied tasks for ongoing bridge upkeep.

This role requires two years of related experience, a valid driver’s license and Class A CDL within six months, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work overtime or nights during emergencies.

Qualificações

• Two years of related work experience or equivalent.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license; Class A CDL within six months of placement.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work outside normal hours and in hazardous conditions.

Responsabilidades

• Operate heavy equipment such as boom trucks, bridge scaffolds, pile hammers, vibratory hammers, and other construction equipment.
• Assist in bridge repairs including concrete spall repair, joint repairs, pile repair, and rail repair.
• Perform welding (arc and MIG) and oxy-acetylene cutting.
• Assist and train in layout using levels, laser levels, and grade rods; maintain records.
• Monitor safety, rigging, and signaling to ensure loads are secure and loads are moved safely.
• May perform carpentry tasks and form work; assist in construction and maintenance projects.
