Qualifications

• Five years of civil engineering experience and an Engineer-In-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
• One year of civil engineering experience in highway design, construction or maintenance related projects and a bachelor's degree with major course work in civil engineering.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Program Planning: Prepare annual bridge maintenance programs and develop repair project lists with material and cost details.
• Design Coordination: Work with traffic, environmental, and county personnel to secure permits, materials, and clearances for repair projects.
• Construction Support: Provide technical guidance during construction seasons by interpreting drawings and inspecting project progress.
• Emergency Oversight: Respond promptly to emergency bridge repairs and assist county crews with needed support.
• Material Management: Monitor salvaged material availability and maintain district inventory for bridge maintenance use.
• Crew Supervision: Manage custodial and maintenance staff to ensure efficient workflow and safe working conditions.
