Job summary

Ardmore Roderick in Lisle, IL seeks a Bridge Inspector - Team Leader to join the Tollway’s GEC staff, inspecting bridges and related structures. This hybrid role combines fieldwork with in-office tasks and provides exposure to cloud-based asset management tools.

You will lead inspection teams, develop basic repair scopes, and contribute to design reviews and manuals, while ensuring adherence to established standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. accredited institution
IDOT approved Team Leader or Program Manager
FHWA training course (e.g., NHI 130055 or 130056)
5+ years of experience
Valid driver’s license
Proficient written and verbal communication
Familiarity with tablet-based project documentation

Responsibilities

Lead inspection teams according to ISTHA, IDOT, and AASHTO standards
Oversee structural inspection of Illinois Tollway assets
Develop basic repair scopes and use Asset Management System software
Assist in design reviews, bridge calculations, and updates to inspection manuals
Prepare annual maintenance and insurance reports
