Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is seeking a Bridge Inspector certified Team Leader to join our Structures/Bridge Group. You will plan and coordinate inspections, communicate results with engineers and clients, and help develop immediate repair and long-term strategies.

This role involves travel up to 40% overnight, with base salary in the $65,000–$95,000 range and a comprehensive benefits package including ESOP, HSA coverage, 401(k) match, and PTO. Based in Collinsville, Effingham, IL, or St.

Qualifications

• NBIS Team Leader Certification required.
• Ability to travel statewide with overnight stays up to 40%.
• Valid driver's license and ability to climb and inspect bridges.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Self-directed with a focus on quality while working in a team.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate bridge inspections according to FHWA and owner requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, clients and stakeholders to communicate inspection results.
• Plan for bridge inspections including equipment, sketches, safety devices, and coordinating safety vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with CDI’s safety procedures.
• Document findings from visual and physical bridge inspections.
• Assess bridges for damage, deterioration, load carrying capacity and weight inspections.
• Advise on immediate repair and long-term strategies.
• Prepare inspection forms and reports; enter data and analyze information.
