Job summary

Collins Engineers, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection-Team Leader for inspection projects in New Mexico and Denver, CO. The role acts as project manager on moderately complex projects with limited oversight, and relocation is available.

The ideal candidate will lead inspection teams, supervise bridge inspections and evaluations, and have strong AutoCAD/MicroStation/Deltek experience. Field work, including nights and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
Must have passed the NHI/FHWA Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course #130055 and/or #130056.
NHI Fracture Critical Course preferred.
SPRAT certification a plus.
Experience with NDT and fracture critical inspections preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Deltek.
E.I.T. certification required.
P.E. certification required.
NICET certification preferred.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Lead inspection teams and assist in successful completion of inspection/design projects.
Supervise above-water and underwater bridge and ancillary design, inspection, and evaluations.
Field work required, including nights and weekends.
Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on field/design issues.
Assist in proposal preparation.
Prepare and monitor project budgets.
Prepare project schedules and ensure timely completion.
Perform engineering computations and prepare plans or reports.
Direct and supervise entry-level staff.
Coach field staff on inspections and techniques.
