Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to support our Gulf Region with locations in Brentwood, Chattanooga, or Knoxville, TN. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with NBIS knowledge and field inspection experience.

The role involves leading a team in the field, scheduling inspections, coordinating stakeholders and maintenance of traffic, and reviewing reports and structural data. Travel is 50% within-state.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of bridge inspection experience, with at least 1 year as NBIS Team Leader.
• Experience in field inspections and reporting; NBIS knowledge required.
• NHI Safety Inspection of In‑Service Bridges course with refresher in last 5 years.
• 50% local in‑state travel required.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site safety inspections of bridges and culverts.
• Lead a team of inspectors in the field during inspections.
• Schedule and coordinate inspections, personnel, vendors, stakeholders, maintenance of traffic.
• Operate access equipment to perform inspections.
• Review and update bridge inspection reports.
• Develop repair recommendations.
• Review structural analysis data.
