Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader in Tennessee, with locations in Brentwood, Chattanooga, or Knoxville. The role requires on-site field inspections, team leadership, and coordination of inspections across assignments in the Gulf Region.

A high school diploma is required, with 5+ years in bridge inspections and NBIS Team Leader experience preferred. The position involves travel within-state (50%) and strong writing/communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting field inspections and preparing inspection reports.
• Strong NBIS knowledge and advanced writing/communication skills.
• NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course with refresher in last 5 years.
• Minimum 5+ years of bridge inspection experience; at least 1 year as NBIS Team Leader.
• 50% local in-state travel required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR; able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site safety inspections of bridges and culverts
• Lead a team of inspectors in the field during inspections
• Schedule and coordinate inspections, personnel, vendors, stakeholders, maintenance of traffic
• Operate access equipment and other equipment to perform inspections
• Review and update bridge inspection reports
• Develop repair recommendations
• Review structural analysis data
