Job summary

Volkert, Inc. in Tennessee is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to oversee field inspections and lead a crew of inspectors in Brentwood, Chattanooga, or Knoxville, TN.

The role requires NBIS knowledge, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to coordinate schedules, safety plans, and reports. A high school diploma is required along with relevant certifications and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Field inspection experience and report writing are required.
• Strong NBIS knowledge and advanced writing/communication skills.
• 5+ years in bridge inspections with at least 1 year as NBIS Team Leader.
• 50% local in-state travel required.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening; valid driver’s license with clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site safety inspections of bridges and culverts.
• Lead a team of inspectors in the field.
• Schedule inspections and coordinate personnel, vendors, stakeholders; maintenance of traffic.
• Operate access equipment and other equipment to perform inspections.
• Review and update bridge inspection reports.
• Develop repair recommendations.
• Review structural analysis data.
