Job summary

Volkert, Inc. in Daphne, AL is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Engineer Team Lead to support the Gulf Region. The role involves leading field inspections both topside and underwater, inspecting culverts, large bridges, and ancillary structures. Travel is required about one week per month, rarely more than two weeks.

The candidate will develop inspection reports, review reports by others, and perform structural load rating and scour analyses. Office duties include writing and data entry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to travel out of state.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Pre-employment drug screening requirement.
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Inspect culverts, large complex bridges, moveable bridges, and related structures.
• Lead field inspection teams, topside and underwater.
• Develop and review inspection reports prepared by others.
• Perform structural load rating and scour analysis.
• Office tasks: report writing, review, and data entry.
