Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant Inspector – Bridge Inspection to join our Mountain Pacific bridge inspection team. This role can be based in AZ, CO, ID, NM, NV, or UT and involves inspecting bridges, culverts, and related structures under NBIS/NTIS guidelines.

You will collect field data, document conditions, and assist in preparing reports while maintaining safety and client standards. Travel within the region may be required as workloads grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 0–1 years of post‑education experience in bridge inspection, construction, or fieldwork.
• Strong research and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections of bridges, culverts, and other transportation assets.
• Support inspections under NBIS, NTIS, and quality standards.
• Document field data, measurements, defects, materials, environmental factors.
• Prepare field notes, sketches, and photos for reports.
• Assist in developing inspection reports with condition ratings and recommendations.
• Operate inspection tools and equipment (measuring devices, drones, UBITS).
• Follow safety protocols including MOT and working over water.
• Coordinate with senior inspectors, engineers, and clients during field ops.
• Participate in client training toward NBIS bridge inspector qualification.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
