Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Assistant Inspector – Bridge Inspection to join our Mountain Pacific bridge inspection team. The role can be based in AZ, CO, ID, NM, NV, or UT and involves assisting with inspections of bridges, culverts and other transportation assets in the NBIS/NTIS framework.

You will collect field data, document conditions and support the development of inspection reports while adhering to safety guidelines and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post‑education experience, with bridge inspection or related fieldwork preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret bridge plans and specifications; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections of bridges, culverts, and other transportation assets.
• Collect and document field data, measurements, defect identification and environmental factors.
• Prepare field notes, sketches, and photography for inspection reports.
• Develop inspection reports with condition ratings and recommended actions.
• Operate inspection tools including measuring devices, tablets, drones, and UBITS.
• Follow safety protocols and coordinate with senior inspectors and client representatives.
• Travel as needed and support NBIS/NTIS compliant inspections.
